User’s Guide

I. Introduction:
The IR tester is used non-contact IR transducer technology for measurement. It is
safe, accurate, high efficiency and reliable. Large spectrum for measuring machine used in chemical industrial, ceramics, light industrial, food, electricity, heat treatment, etc… or high temperature, dangerous area for measuring surface temperature.
II. Operation Theory:
Any temperature onto the substance large than zero, it will normally reflect the IR energy at light speed to any direction. The IR tester will receive the IR energy though the lens to collect the data inside the transducer, then the transducer will output a low voltage signal and calculation the temperature by using positive scale. Finally, the temperature will display onto the LCD.
III. Operation:
Basically, the temperature tester outlook is made by few parts. Please follow the
steps as below: (Shown in Figures #1 & #2):

- Start the tester: Press the “Test Button”, instrument will auto self test and then shown the temperature.
- LCD display: IR tester LCD will display the details symbol with icon after started. (See Figure #3)
- Measuring: Let the probe head focus on the test target then press “Test Button”, or press and hold the “test Button” for continuously teting. (Mention: Don’t press the “Test Button” less than 0.8s when measuring.)
- Power off: The IR tester will automatically power off when the rest time over 15s.
- Applied Functions:
- Press (2) “Back Light Symbol” Button will on or off the LCD display Back Light.
- Press (3) “Laser Symbol” Button will on or off the Laser beam
- Press (4) “oC / oF” Button for change the test unit in oC (Degree Celsius) or oF (Fahrenheit)

V. Shoot Rate:
Many organic material and varnish or oxide surface should have 0.95 shoot rate. The IR tester default set the shoot rate 0.95. If it tested onto the bright or polished surface, the IR testers will not accuracy. (Solution: you can use the black color plastic tape or print the black color onto the testing area. Then, test the plastic tape or the black print surface temperature when the tape and black print temperature is equal to the substance.)
- Mention: Suggestion don’t used for measuring the bright or polished surface (e.g. Stainless Steel, Aluminum, etc…)
- IR tester impossible to pass though the glass for measurement.( Actually, the IR tester can test the glass surface only)
- The IR tester accuracy will be influence by Steam, Dust and Smoke, etc…
VI. Testing distance: (See Figure #4)

The distance between tester and the substance is more; the testing surface area will increase. The relationship between distance and the testing point is used for D:S representatively. When the distance is 50cm and the testing point diameter is 6.3cm, the IR tester will display the mean value which depends on the 6.3cm diameter testing point. (Shown as Picture 4)
VII. Maintenance:
- Cover cleaning Method: Use soap in water form with soft cloth for cleaning (Don’t put the IR tester into the water)
- Lens cleaning method:
- Firstly, using clean compressed air to blow out the dust or other dirty particle.
- Secondly, Using the soft cloth wipe out the remaining particle
- After this, using humid cotton for cleaning.
- Mention: Don’t use any detergent
VIII. Safety messages:
Warning! To avoid human hazard, please follow the instruction as below:
- Don’t shoot the laser beam onto the eyes or from the reflect surface.
- Before using the IR tester, please check the tester. Don’t use the broken tester for any measurement.
- If the LCD display show the battery low battery symbol, please change the battery before measurement.
- If the tester out of working, please don’t use it for measurement. Any problems lead to tester out of working, please take it to repair.
- Never use the tester into the explosive area, steam area or dust area.
- To avoid burn hazard, please remember the high shoot rate index substance surface temperature should be lower than the actual temperature.
- If proper instructions for using this tester are not followed, instrument provided protection function will disqualified.
- To avoid damaging the tester or testing body; please follow the safety guideline below:
- Prevent the tester near usage at arc soldering machine, Sense mode heat generator, etc…
- Heat impact (Use 20 to 30 min waiting for the tester to become stable since the heat impact environment can create fluctuation temperature range)
- Don’t put the tester onto or near the high temperature object.
